Quality Assurance – the quality process and its importance

In the past, the Quality and Development areas of a company were seen as opponents, because the quality process would only start with the opening of an error, that is, with a failure in the system that generated an unplanned behavior by the developer.

Over time, this idea has been overcome, and nowadays Quality Assurance (QA) teams are increasingly valued, as their involvement starts at the project analysis stage, and contributes to inter-team communication and cross-functional knowledge.

In practical terms, the QA team uses its strong analytical and problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail to:

1.     Identify defects and process improvements

2.     Recommend, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective actions

3.     Gather and analyze statistical data

4.     Ensure that user expectations are met

5.     Develop quality assurance policies and procedures

6.     Investigate customer suggestions for product improvement

Additionally, QA knowledge and expertise results in the anticipation of system failures and necessary improvements for the well-functioning of the product/service. This is especially important in tech companies like Tlantic, where the QA team not only retains but also drives internal and external knowledge, and generates confidence in the products that are put on the market.

Therefore, we can clearly state that QA skills are differentiating and turn product teams into greater multidisciplinary teams that actively contribute to the business’ success!
